botox san diego
Getting Botox is really quick, and you can visit your technician during your lunch break to have the injections done and go back to work without any signs that you just had it done. If it is your first time going for Botox in San Diego, you have to know how it works and your responsibility during and after the process.

Step 1: Your consultation
You first Botox consultation is an excellent time to ask any Botox questions. For instance, you may have questions regarding whether Botox or dermal fillers is a better option for you. As with any medical procedure, it is vital to be very honest about your medical history, medications you take, and if you’ve had any allergic reactions to medications before. Even taking supplements such as Omega 3 oils and Vitamin E, aspirin, warfarin or sleeping meds can affect your Botox treatment and healing time.

We will assess your medical history to see if you are fit to receive Botox with minimum risk. The consultation takes about an hour, but the actual procedure lasts only ten minutes.

Step 2: Exercise beforehand
If you can, it’s best to exercise before your appointment since diluted Botox could sometimes move to other parts of your body when you are too active. We advise that you stay upright for a few hours after the treatment to ensure the most effective outcome. However, the movement is unlikely if you come to a professional, trusted medical spa such as ours.

Step 3: Clean your skin
If your appointment is before or during work hours, and you need to look your best, you can just remove the makeup at the injection area. We will clean the area with rubbing alcohol as well, and after the procedure, it’s safe to reapply your makeup and go back to work. Be sure to bring your cleanser and your makeup bag with you if you wish to reapply after the procedure. There will also be several things that you want to avoid after Botox treatment. We will give you a complete run down of that after your appointment.

Step 4: Ointment
We will give you an ice pack that should bring down the swelling at the injection site, and except for the injection points, you won’t be able to see much else. If you are prone to bruising easily, we suggest that you get Arnica oil beforehand to apply it during the day to minimize the effects of the injections.

Step 5: Calm your mind
It is best to be relaxed when you come for the procedure. You can take a mild sedative or listen to calming music, do breathing exercises or have someone go with you to the appointment if it makes you feel more at ease. Ask as many questions as you need to during the consultation, so you know exactly what to expect and to set your mind at ease about any risks or side effects that could be involved.

Step 6 Realistic expectations
Although there are several surprising We do our best to make the process as comfortable as possible, but you must be aware of the risks and what takes place during the procedure. The effects of Botox are not permanent, so you will have follow-up appointments to maintain your appearance. You also won’t be seeing results immediately, but two weeks after, you will see the full effects of the treatment.
