With so many available med spa treatments, it can be challenging to fit them into your busy life. That’s why it can be helpful to build a routine that suits you and helps you achieve total body confidence by meeting your needs and sticking to a schedule.
Your routine will depend on multiple factors, such as your desired results, the treatments you want to try, the effects of each treatment, and the required downtime between them. Read on to learn how to build your monthly med spa routine.
Before you start scheduling appointments, you need to know your aesthetic goals. Carefully consider which treatments suit your needs because some simply won’t be necessary for your goals or skin type. Perhaps you’re interested in ongoing treatments like laser hair removal or weight loss injections. If you aren’t sure where to start, answer the following questions:
You probably have areas of your body that consistently bother you, and you’d like to work on them. For example, specific treatments like Botox and dermal fillers can reverse early signs of aging like wrinkles and lost facial volume. As the seasons change, many clients visit us for chemical peels to rejuvenate their skin.
Next, think about what prevents you from feeling your best. You may benefit from laser hair removal or skin resurfacing treatments if you have stubborn acne or struggle with rapid hair regrowth. Many of our clients just want to reduce the time they spend on aesthetic maintenance.
Enhancing treatments like Skinvive for cheek smoothness and lip fillers are an excellent way to highlight your natural beauty. If you consistently feel lethargic, prone to illness, or struggle with brain fog, you may want to add IV therapy to your monthly med spa routine.
Many of our clients prefer to schedule their treatments for the entire year, so all they have to do is show up on time. When planning a monthly schedule, we consider treatment downtime, maintenance, follow-up appointments, and important dates throughout the year. Knowing these details will help you attend to due treatments consistently.
Some treatments have particular aftercare instructions that can prevent you from participating in certain activities. For example, after a chemical peel, you must avoid sun exposure for at least a week, and there is usually considerable skin flaking. During the recovery period, you may want to avoid scheduling events. Hence, you need to be aware of the downtime associated with each treatment.
Weddings, anniversaries, work functions, and high school reunions can all impact your med spa routine. You’ll want to schedule treatments with enough time before the event so that the full results are visible when the big day arrives. Therefore, it’s crucial to know how long it takes for each treatment to take effect. For example, laser hair removal treatments require several sessions, so plan to start your treatments months in advance.
Most med spa treatments are not permanent and require regular follow-up appointments to maintain results. It’s necessary to plan your schedule to allow maintenance sessions before the results fade entirely. In addition, some treatments, like weight loss injections, may need to happen every week to two weeks, so make sure there is enough time in your schedule.
Let’s review a potential schedule to show you how to build your monthly med spa routine. For this example, we’ll include chemical peels, IV therapy, IPL photofacials, Semaglutide injections, Botox, dermal fillers, laser hair removal, and lip fillers.
Chemical Peels: You can have a session once a month for light chemical peels. However, medium and deep chemical peels may require two to six months between treatments, and recovery typically takes longer.
IV Therapy: Depending on your goals and the effects you feel, you may choose to schedule an IV therapy treatment once a month. If you are sick or know you will have a hangover, you may schedule them as needed.
IPL Photofacials: For your first 3-6 treatments, you can schedule a session every 2-4 weeks. Once you have reached your desired results, you only need a maintenance session every 2-12 months, depending on how your skin reacts.
Semaglutide Injections: Weight loss injections are usually injected every week, so it can be helpful to schedule them in advance to make sure you don’t take a dosage too late. Your injector will help you plan your treatments.
Botox: Results typically last for 3-4 months, but clients tend to want a follow-up before the effects fade, so most schedule their Botox appointments every three months to maintain their appearance.
Dermal and Lip Fillers: Treatments are recommended every six months to two years based on the type of filler, your metabolism, and the area treated. Lip fillers may need to be scheduled more regularly every 9-12 months, depending on how fast your results fade.
Laser Hair Removal: This treatment is scheduled based on your hair growth cycle, with four to six weeks between sessions. Depending on the area and your goals, you can schedule a session every second month.
Setting up a monthly med spa routine for total body confidence starts with understanding your goals and choosing treatments that meet your needs. Your schedule will also be influenced by your lifestyle and important dates in your life.
